     Today in Human Geo we watched Slum Dog Millionaire. This movie is so good. I would have never thought a movie like this would be good. Today we stopped at the part right before the last question. Today during the movie the brother got split up and then reunited. Salime made Jamal leave and kept the girl. That shocked me so much. I wasn't expecting Salime to leave Jamal. Also I didn't think they would be reunited. Furthermore, Salime is not a good guy and I can't believe he is doing these things. The things they are doing in India to these people and women make me really appreciate our country.

     There are many differences in  the Indian and American culture. Below I have listed some differences.

Indian:

• There bathrooms are like an outhouse and goes to a sewer
• The police aren't nice and don't protect the people
• The children are playing on dirt and in dirty water 
• If you want something out of someone they usually torture them
• They aren't very education 
• The teachers hit kids in the head with books 

American:

• Our troops and police protect us
• We have playgrounds to play on 
• We have a lot of food and drinking water 
• We have a great education 
• We have nice big houses and they live in slums 

We also continued watching the movie. In this ,movie they almost got killed. However, they didn't, also we watched them survive over the years by themselves. It was really weird seeing them grow up with no parents and survive on their own. I'm so used to having parents and having food. This movie is making me realize how much I take for granite, Overall, I really like this movie and hope to continue to watch it.

     Today in Human Geo we watched part of a movie called Slum Dog Millionaire. It  was an awesome movie so far. It was about an Indian guy who was winning this game show. However, these two men trapped him in their basement and are torturing him still he confesses he cheated to win. Furthermore, he did't cheat, but they don't believe that. In the movie there is flash backs to when he was a child. I think these flashbacks are to show how hes answering the questions right. Overall, the movie has been really good so far and I hope we can watch it tomorrow.

     Today in Human Geo Mr.Schick wasn't here. Furthermore he gave us an assignment on his blog. However, I already did the assignment so I work on my other homework during class. I was really happy to have a mod where I could do my homework!

     Today in Human Geo we started a unit on Cultural Geography. This unit seems like it will be really interesting and fun. We looked a map today that gave us an intro to this unit. The map had what different counties call soda. It was interesting to see all the different color and different culture on the map. Overall, I think this unit will be fun and interesting.

There National Anthem was cool, however it wasn't like the US one. Theirs was more about slavery and the soldiers. It also sounded lie you could march to it. Overall, it was a lot different from our National Anthem.

     Today in Human Geo we took our test. The test was hard even though I  studied a lot for it. For the most part I knew the information there where only like 5 questions I really had trouble on. I really hope all of my studying helped and that I got a good grade. Overall, I studied a lot but thought the test was difficult, and I hope to get a good grade.

     Today in Human Geo we reviewed for our test. I like when we review in class so I know what to exactly study for. Our test tomorrow is on a lot of information, however you just have to study a lot. To study for big test like this I have make flash cards to study. They help me comprehend and understand what where doing. Overall, I like review days and I hope I do well on the test tomorrow.

     Today in Human Geo we talked about what's going to be on our test on Wednesday. Our test is going to be about the 13 countries we did our projects on. Furthermore, we didn't cover all the countries with our projects so Mr.Schick will post a study guide to his blog for us. Overall, we have learned a lot about these 13 countries. I would have never known any of these facts about the other countries in the World. Overall, I thought it was really cool learning about these other countries.

     Today we continued to share our project. Below I have listed some facts I learned.

Brazil

• Federal Republic since 1988
• Dilma Rousseff was elected president in October 31, 2010 and re elected a few days ago 
• She is the first women president of Brazil 
• There terms are four years 
• Shes expected to stay in office for the next four years 
• To get rid of her you could elect a new person in our years 
• You could also impeach 

Canada

• Parliamentary democracy the main government 
• Federation
• Constitutional monarchy 
• Prime Minister Ste
• They've been a constitutional monarchy since April 17,1882 
• Stephen Harper is the Prime Minister hes been in power for eight years and he started in January 23, 2006

      Today we continued presenting our projects. Below I have listed some of the facts I have learned today.

 Russia

• Federal presidential Republican by Vladmir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev 
• 1991 is when this government started 
• Vladmir Putin was a president from 2000-2008
• He took office again in May,7 2012 
• Dmitry is the 10th prime minister of Russia he was president 2008-2012 
• Government needs to ensure the implement a uniform state policy in the areas of culture, science, education, health protection, social security, and ecology 
• You can impeach, assassinate, protest, vote a third party candidate, and start a revolution 
• There's a White House in Moscow

Syria 

• Republic and Bashar al Assad 
• Hes been in rule for fourteen years 
• Their elections are rigged.....he counts the votes and can throw away votes that aren't for him
• He received 97% of the votes
• The only way to get rid of him is assassination 
• They tried a revolution but he started using chemical weapons on the people 
• They have a terrorist group called ISIS 

Japan 

• Parliamentary government with a constitutional monarchy Emperor Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe 
• The Emperor is the worlds only monarchy with the Emperor
• The Prime Minister is the President of the Liberal Democratic Party
• All men and women who have reached the age 20 have the right to vote
• They can't impeach

     Today in Human Geo we presented our projects and learned about different country's . Below I have listed some facts I learned today. Furthermore, I also presented my project. I did it on France and was very fascinated by the things i learned.


United States-

• You can rid of them by assassination, revolution, or impeachment. 
• They can serve 2 terms which is 8 years, 
• You cant impeach for not liking or disagreeing with the president. 
• Andrew Johnson was impeached because he removed a member of his cabinet without Senate approval he was impeached on February 24th 
• We have a federal republic. 
• A candidate needs a majority of the electoral votes. 

Germany

• Germany has a federal republic. 
• There leader is Angela Merkel she is a chancellor.  
• Every four years they elect a new chancellor. 
• They can impeach in Germany. 
• Every five years a new president is elected.

     Today in Human Geo we got to work on our projects My project was already done so all I had to do was go over and make some changes. During this project I learned a lot about France and there government. I didn't know a lot of the facts we researched. Furthermore, I'm excited to present and learn about other countries. Overall, I enjoyed doing this project and thought it was a great way to learn about a countries government and leader.
